Wolves once roamed a vast percentage of our continent. They were hunted nearly to extinction in the last two centuries, driven largely by fear, with a little property revenge thrown in. Wolf attacks on humans are very rare except in fairy tales and frontier novels.
Wildlife management is bringing back wolf populations in wilderness areas, where they are an important predator at the top of the foodchain. Repopulation is more problematic where it poses a threat to livestock, and hopefullly we'll be coming up with new and better ways to manage those conflicts.
Our wolf necklaces honor these magnificent creatures. The pendants are laser-cut from 1/8" solid wood and come in two designs and three sizes. The large size measures about 1-1/2" across. The medium is about 1-1/8", and the small size measures about 3/4". Pendants come on a 20" adjustable waxed cotton chain with a decorative bail. All components are environmentally friendly and are lead- and nickel-free.
Available woods include red alder, a beautiful light wood with a fine grain. Cherry is a slightly darker wood with a more variable grain. Walnut is a rich, dark wood with a fine grain.
You can also brighten up your day with a shiny, reflective necklace cut from an acrylic mirror.
